Events Calendar

Orange Community Education and Recreation represents one of the most comprehensive programs of educational, enrichment, recreational and leisure opportunities for participants of all ages and interests to be found anywhere in Ohio. Its professional staff works in tandem with residents, the school district and the community to develop programs and services in ten main areas, including:

• Adult Education
• Senior Adults
• Sports
• Aquatics
• Special Events
• Summer Camps
• Youth Theatre

Each year, more than 1,000 classes and other programs are offered, attracting as many as 12,000 registrations.

The OCE&R was founded in 1973 by the Orange School District and several participating suburbs, including Pepper Pike. Two years later, a community and recreation levy was passed, but to this day, nearly three-quarters of the program’s operating revenue comes from user fees and registration income. The State of Ohio has recognized the program’s excellence by naming it the sole model training site for other communities and school districts.
